The Go Compare Man Is Better Than These Two
on 7 February 2016
As someone who has listened to classical crossover, or 'popera', for over 10 years, I can't understand why people rate these two so highly. If you've listened to Il Divo you'd recognise the music on this album because these two have basically just copied and pasted the music (which is probably true as Simon Cowell made Il Divo), but they've sung it with what sounds like blocked noses. It's sad that the genre of music I love so much is represented by artists like Richard & Adam, Paul Potts, and others, that just don't have the talent to match other artists that have infinitely more talent, better voices, and don't have to resort to copying other artists' songs.
If you like this kind of music, I'd suggest you try Il Divo, Il Volo, Katherine Jenkins, Cortes, Vittorio Grigolo, The Tenors, The Ten Tenors, Alfie Boe, Andrea Bocelli, Josh Groban, Mary-Jess, Russell Watson, Sara Kempe, Sol3 Mio, Tenors Unlimited, Will Martin, and even BGT's Jonathan & Charlotte (Jonathan Antoine has an incredible voice). I would even go as far as saying that the Go Compare Man has a better voice than these two, and I mean that sincerely and honestly.
Obviously it's great that classical crossover is getting some recognition, it's just sad that it's being represented by these two.
