I brought this for use on family camping trips. It worked brilliantly. although the grill is only 37 cm across, it was large enough to hold the sausages or burgers required to feed all four of us. Filling the pan once with charcoal allowed at least two lots of cooking and with grill removed the kids had fun toasting marshmallows afterwards. It was used many times on the trip but has only done the one trip so far.

The one downside was the compact nature, although allowing it to be easily stowed with all the other camping gear in the car, does mean that there is little room between coals and food so it cooks real quick, so you have to keep with it! As the pan concentrates the coals in the centre the edge can then be used to keep items warm if required.

Great fun and very practical, plus the kids loved the colour.

This is quite good value for the price. Compared to other portable designs it's great that this can carry hot coals and the build quality is very good for the price. However it does have some pretty big design flaws. There is no bottom ventilation, so it takes some serious air blowing to get this thing really hot. You can cook without blowing air, it just doesn’t get real hot or last very long. I’m planning on drilling holes in mine to allow ventilation, but this option isn’t for everyone. In addition to the ventilation issue, they’ve used flammable paint! My first unit caught fire after getting quite hot and Amazon sent me a replacement. There were quite a lot of flames happening when it caught fire so you’re probably okay if you avoid that. Also, if you put the lid on with the ventilation holes open, it will put your coals out. The reason why BBQs have vent holes on the lid is to allow you to slow cook / warm your food, but the design of this means even with the holes open, your BBQ goes out.

I don’t know if similar but more expensive units have these same issues, they may very well do. If I were looking for something to last more than one or two summers I’d probably look at something else. As it is I’ll be using this, it’s just not perfect.

Cute, handy, dos the job !
A bit fastidious to put it all together, as it comes with lots of screws to fix in. But once you have done it, you can enjoy a nice BBQ or warming your outside space.

You can unscrew the handle and legs and turn the lid around in order to save storage space. It comes with an internal round tray where you place the coal, which could be bigger but still worked out for a two-person bbq. The only fault I'd mention is there's no built-in stand for the lid like some bbqs do, so you need to place the lid next to the bbq each time.

Likes: Portable, sturdy and feels well made. Cooks for 2-3 people absolutely fine.

Dislikes: The BBQ will not cook with the lid on - so what is the point of the vents, therefore? I am tempted to drill some vent holes in the bottom, which would help with air flow and allow me to cook with the lid on.

Overall: As portable, BBQ's go, this model represents good value for money and is easily assembled. It is not expensive, but feels as if it is made of quality materials and does the job well. I cannot really complain and do not regret the purchase.

Love it, really cute and handy. We live in a third floor flat so it's perfect for going up and down the stairs. Not one for large bbqs but great for picnics.

Build quality is decent for the price, it functions as it should and I haven't found any gripes. The clips on the side are convenient when you want to carry the whole thing by the lid handle. Finally the colour (I went for the orange one) and design are great and it even looks good just sitting doing nothing in the corner of the room at home.

I wanted a small compact bbq that I could use for my balcony, garden and days by the river, this fits the bill. It can cook 12 sausages at once, light enough to move but sturdy so it doesn't fall or wobble. And if you are like me cant stand for to long you can cook sitting down. Brilliant!

Great little bbq, and at such a price! I saw similar (albeit more sturdy) designs at john lewis for 65£, so for 18£ delivered it really is great value. Used it a few times now; if you're cunning you can feed four hungry people with it. Can't recommend enough!
