The hit musical "Dreamboats and Petticoats" with its seemingly endless spin-off series of reissues recently added "Three Steps To Heaven" to its long list of double CDs crammed with late 50s, early 60s' pop gems. Again the selction is outstanding featuring rock 'n' roll pioneers Little Richard, Chuck Berry, Elvis Presley, Eddie Cochran, Gene Vincent, Dion and Buddy Holly. The set also includes Britain's best ever rock 'n' roll records "Move It" and "Shakin' All Over" by Cliff Richard & The Drifters and Johnny Kidd & His Pirates, respectively. Other artists featured are the terrific Everly Brothers, the Big O - Roy Orbison, Bobby Darin, Del Shannon, Neil Sedaka and then heart-throbs Ricky Nelson and Bobby Vee. Consistent UK hit makers Marty Wilde, Billy Fury and Adam Faith sing their biggest sellers and Tommy Steele rocks with His Cavemen. The overall sound is superb but again there's the odd mono version of tracks recorded in true stereo ("Return To Sender", "Little Town Flirt", "Runaround Sue", "The Night Has A Thousand Eyes" et al). Many a song here can be heard on other "Dreamboats and Petticoats" compilations, but if classic rock and the very best of early British pop and rock are up your alley, then this set is a must-have!

This two CD compilation set is really great. All my favourite tracks and a few I'd almost forgotten about. Love driving to it and singing along, re-living happy memories. A real feel good feeling. :-)

Brilliant collection of tracks all male artists of the late 50s and early 60s,this album is a good companion for the recent Petticoats album, which contains all Female tracks,so lets hope they keep this series going a bit longer and introduce some more tracks that we have not heard for Years.

I love this album, mostly because I know every one! So many compilations fall short as they include songs you've never heard before, but this is great. I play it while I'm ironing, spurs me on!

This CD brought back so many memories of my younger days, the quality is very good and the songs were all popular in the 60's so if you were around then you will love it

This another in the brilliantly collectible 'Dreamboats' series, it presents songs from the late 50's into the early 60's'
The title track 'Three Steps To Heaven' a poignant reminder of the artist who recorded it, 'Eddie Cochran' the song
topping the U.K Charts a short while after the tragic accident that had taken the young singers life.
He'd been appearing at the 'Bristol Hippodrome' 11th - 16th April 1960, on route after his last show a freak accident
took his life, he died 'Easter Sunday' 17th April 1960 aged just 'Twenty One' a promising future tragically ended in
moments.
Of course many artists featured on the 2-Disc Compilation are sadly no longer with us, many dying way before their
time.
This collection captures the mood of the time with many great and memorable tracks on-board, i will again highlight
just a selection from each of the two discs to give a feel of what's on offer........Disc One........'Eddie Cochran' --'Three
Steps To Heaven'........'Adam Faith' --'What Do You Want'........'Chuck Berry' --'Memphis Tennessee'........'Del Shannon'
--'Little Town Flirt'........'Lonnie Donegan' --'Rock Island Line'........'Chubby Checker' --'The Twist'........and........'Joe Brown
and the Bruvers' --'That's What Love Will Do'.........just a few of the Twenty-Five gems nestled on-board dis one........
on Disc Two........'Elvis' --'Return To Sender'........'Del Shannon' --'Runaway'........'Neil Sedaka' --'Breaking Up Is Hard To
Do'........'Buddy Holly' --'It Doesn't Matter Any More'........'Marty Wilde' --'Donna'........'Little Richard' --'Long Tall Sally'.......
and........'John Leyton' --'Wild Wind'........again just a few of the many numbers to be found on disc two...
The Compilation is jam-packed with many treasured memories from those long-past days which many will remember as
if it were yesterday i'm sure, i have merely listed just a few from each of the discs, many more if not most worthy of a
mention.
This is a great Music series that is well worth considering a a 'Must Collect' ....perhaps you'll want to check-out the complete
play-list for this one, readily available on it's 'Amazon' page.

I have the other sets. This one is very good. Being a teenager in the 60's, I really love singing along with the music.
Many thanks for bringing back many memories in a musical form!!
