Confidence is such a tricky word to get your head around. When you're confident you don't bother to think about confidence; when you're not, it's difficult to know exactly how to get there. If you can discover confidence for yourself from any book, this is the one. Kate Burton and Brinley Platts start by usefully linking confidence to motivation and values. They then take a multi-pronged approach and deal with every aspect of being confident, from expressing your passion and stretching yourself mentally to physical and vocal confidence - in the work place, in romantic relationships and even social media. Like most `For Dummies' books, it's full of useful things to try, and tips to ease the way. There's a warmth in this practical book that convinces you that confidence is possible - for you - and that you have a friend walking beside you to help you on your way.

A book with a huge amount of information in it for its size, giving lots of different ways to start increasing your confidence - either in general or in specific areas.
I like the fact that you can start from the 'inside' - thinking about your values, motivations, what you want from life etc. to gain confidence in being happier and more certain about your choices, or on the 'outside' with practical things you can try doing to be more confident in your behaviours.
It is a book to read / dip in and out of as required over time with lots of exercises / ideas / practical tips to try out for size and see what works well for you.
