This book was so disappointing. The author could have created such an interesting tale with this subject matter, but the characters are completely unconvincing, and the plot was written as if the writer was running out of ideas and didn't know what she was going to do next. It is a very basic 'chick lit' book which is fine, but the cover dresses the story up as something it is not. Quite patronising in tone, and I felt as though I was being treated like a teenager. Everyone seems to love it on here though, so maybe I'm missing something...

If you're looking for a well written and moving book then this is for you. It's rare that I find a book that grips me all the way through, and I found myself laughing and crying at the same time. I felt as though I really knew and understood Ruby and Rose and I was devastated when the novel came to an end. Would recommend this book to any reader, and will be looking for other work by Lori Larsens
