Das Boot (Director's Cut) [DVD] [1998] DVD ~ Jürgen Prochnow
I watched this first jokingly due to a reference to it in Peter Kayes Phoenix Nights but very quickly I was glued to the screen. Uber - realistic, the seens in the sub as they set off, with typical male banter (sorry guys), you can just imagine guys talking like that. You see the softer side of german sailors/submariners and get a feel of what they, and our lads went through. You feel for the captain as reality of war sets in and he just wants to get hos crew home safe. Plenty of nail biting moments - I think I actually held my breath for two minutes at one point in case an allied sub heard me breathe! Highly recommend and defo watch again.

3.0 out of 5 stars Das Boot was better, 28 Feb 2014
I thought this film was watchable but it seemed a very weak american version of Das Boot. Unbelieveable in places. Storyline was good but some of the acting was typical american "let him prove himself and everything will be ok". If you want a realistic ww2 film about u-boats I'm sure there are much better out there, like Das Boot! If I hadn't seen Das Boot first I think I would have liked this more.

With having very curly dry hair I'm always looking to achieve the above and this works for me every time.
