The Traitor Queen: Book 3 of the Traitor Spy (Trai&hellip by Trudi Canavan
A good enough ending though perhaps not enough of a fight and Sonea was really wasted in it as she didn't even get to fight! Without adding a spoiler her love interest is odd but also you see it coming a mile off. Probably plenty won't like it but I did. The whole trilogy lacks the sharpness of the Black Magician trilogy but if you like this world then you will enjoy it, just not as much as the original I suspect. Worth the read though, along with the first two
The Rogue: Book 2 of the Traitor Spy (Traitor Spy &hellip by Trudi Canavan
The second book continues Lorkin's story with the Traitor's, plus a secondary story of misbehaving novices and a rogue magician. Sonea is involved in hunting the rogue with Cery's help and a return of former possible love interest in Dorrien.

Danyl's part in the book is interesting and possibly my favourite bit. It doesn't have the edge that The Novice had but still a good read
The Magician's Apprentice (Black Magician Trilogy) by Trudi Canavan
4.0 out of 5 stars Nice prequel, 5 April 2014
I enjoyed this prequel. It isn't as good as the Black Magician trilogy, but neither is the Traitor Trilogy. That said it is an enjoyable read and gives a good back story to the Guild, Sachaka and the Wasteland. I like the characters but the battle scenes fall a little short and the ending a bit rushed. Slightly predictable with lowly girl having natural magical ability and jealous apprentice (where have we seen that before..) but the overall story makes up for that. If you like the others in this series you will enjoy this but it isn't a patch on the Black Magician trilogy
