Mudhoney: The Sound & The Fury From Seattle by Keith Cameron
Brilliant book based on original interviews with all of the main parties. Almost worth it just for the Matt Lukin vs Nick Cave wrestling photo. One star off as I felt it could have been a bit longer. I didn't want it to end!
Learning Quartz Composer: A Hands-on Guide to Crea&hellip by Graham Robinson
Considering that the Quartz Composer software is essentially free with all Apple Macs, it is amazing it has taken this long for a book to emerge to serve this potentially huge user base. Don't be put off by the book's brevity - it also includes a DVD illustrating the examples - and after a few pages you will have your own working examples. I've not finished it yet, but already feel the purchase was worthwhile. One point off for the big publication delay, some spelling mistakes and that a lot of the patches in the library are not covered. But is this for the advanced follow-up? And can someone translate the zugakousaku QC book from Japanese?

i've had one of these fail twice after a year. first time i sent it back to lacie and they fixed it but lost the data. a year later and it has failed again.... i am 95% sure the drive itself is ok (hd wasn't reading/writing and failure was instant, rather than intermittent), so if i want the data i have no option but to void the warranty and open the drive myself to get the hd. i know drive failure is a matter of 'when' rather than 'if', but i have only had 3 drive failures and they have all been lacie d2. coincidence?
