A clear, thorough and very readable study of this important topic which will be invaluable to all who work with young children.
The book is well referenced and is peppered with relevant theories. Moreover, practical examples instantly illuminate different aspects of sustained, shared thinking.
Kathy Brodie amply fulfils her sub-title of 'Linking theory to practice'
I recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very worthwhile, 12 May 2013
This is a very accessible book yet packed with information about ways to tune in to and plan for young children's well-being, learning and achievement.
Each chapter is clearly laid out. Points are very well referenced and illustrated with interesting case studies.
There is so much to commend but I found the chapter relating to children with special needs particularly useful with the emphasis on working with other agencies.
