5.0 out of 5 stars Mel and Matt Deliver, 24 Aug 2013
Matt and Melanie (Mattanie anyone?) work well together because they both seem to think that to make a great single you need a great song, a glance at the chart tells us that for the most part you don't even need any sort of song. Mel was never the most expressive of singers but give her a soft rock anthem like this and she is untouchable. Matt just keeps on churning out great records, his last album The Fire sounded like someone's Greatest Hits album, the boy sure knows how to write an infectious hook. Her next release answered the question "What shall we get Mum for Christmas?" and only served to frustrate the fans that were waiting for a Boyle album with some flesh on its bones.
On "Someone To Watch Over Me", Boyle and producer Steve Mac have for the most part not used the orchestra and choir that fought against the star so much on their… Read more
