The way by Swann's ?!? That isn't even grammatical! As for A love of Swann's, In the shadow of young girls in flower and Finding time again, well, what can you say? Lydia Davis is no doubt an excellent translator and I can only assume pressure was brought to bear to use these catastrophically inept titles, for whatever reason.

I have to agree with the first reviewer. I was hoping for something more inspirational, sticking up for beauty, style, discernment, elegance and so on in the teeth of the prevailing philistinism, but this reads like a routine, albeit extended, exam response by a diligent but hardly highflying student.

Breaking Bad was thoroughly enjoyable in series 1 to 3, but it went off the rails when Walter decided to pull Jesse's stones out of the fire, setting him on a collision course with Fring. So far so good, but the writers were totally unable to pull it off. By accident, I watched series 5 as the final series (I wasnt following the media stories about the series) and was annoyed by what I thought was the bizarre ending, with Hank finally realised that Walt was Heisenberg while sitting on the toilet. Unfortunately this act proved symbolic, because down the toilet is precisely where the series proceeded to go. Perhaps the best way to describe it is "emotional porn", perhaps the most… Read more
