3.0 out of 5 stars A bit of a stretch!, 2 Jan 2014
I enjoyed the author's style and will look out for other books. However, I found this story unbelievable. I do understand the difficulty that women have in leaving abusive situations, but it was difficult to relate to the heroine's actions. She was too cold-blooded in her actions, and gave little thought to the consequences for her children. I think the author had problems with making the situation so bad that murder was an acceptable option, but at the same time ensuring all other characters in the book were totally unaware of the horrific physical abuse happening under their noses.

3.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable read, 2 Jan 2014
I really enjoyed this book. I liked the author's style, especially the conversations. However, the biggest disappointment was the ending. Hannah is given a neat 'out' to her dilemma. I would have preferred a more realistic ending. But still a good holiday book!

4.0 out of 5 stars Adoption, 2 Jan 2014
This book is all about adoption and the repercussions that continue for the rest of the lives of those involved. Although this book is a light read, the author still managed to cover the more difficult aspects of adoption, in particular the feelings of guilt and anger. Unfortunately the book will date as many young readers today will not understand the pressures brought to bear on unmarried mothers in the past.
