This book certainly exercised your mind and your imagination. I liked the storyline, but it sometimes moved slowly. It is a big departure from his previous novels and he pulls it off, but at times only just. It is a worthwhile read and an enjoyable read so is worth the 4 stars I have given it.
Working with the Labyrinth: Paths for Exploration by Ruth Sewell
This is a good book for ideas and to inspire you. Each chapter is written by a different author and is UK based. I am looking at potentially leading a quiet day at our Diocesean Retreat House which has a labyrinth and this has given me some realy good pointers. It has also inspired me to look at putting in my own small labyrinth. For me a couple of the chapters were not relevant to what I currently need but the rest are very useful. It will be a good book to be able to dip in and out of as we walk along lifes journey.
Swahili: Beginner's Course (World Language) by Living Language

I have been 'playing' at learning Swahili for 5 years and this is the first course that I have come across which takes you through it in a systematic way. I particularly like the two sets of cd's, one for learning the lessons and the others to play in the car and elsewhere to reinforce and test the learning. It comes with a good text book, with sensible suggestions like the use of flash cards for learning vocabulary, but it still takes time and effort to learn a language no matter how good the language course.
