Positive Discipline for Preschoolers: For Their Ea&hellip by Jane Nelsen

I have the PD book for 1-3 year olds and have used it often, now this one is helping again with more common sense but well thought out approaches to understanding and living with toddlers and preschoolers.

There is no easy fix, 'supernanny style' answer (thank god as the naughty step is just so awful and pointless and I can't stand that it is the number one parenting tool at present). I see parents often who nag, hound, say the same futile thing over and over (last warning, I'm not saying this again, yelling from one end of the playground to the other, sternly telling off tiny kids) and I just don't want to do that myself. 5.0 out of 5 stars 2 year old loves it, 21 Aug 2011
My son just loves this book. He likes to just flick through it and I'm not joking - his mouth waters, he rubs his belly and says 'i'm soooo hungry' just from looking at it! He is also a little obsessed with counting the numbers on the steps of the recipes outloud. He is learning his numbers really well from this. We have made a couple of things (although really it is just me - he gets very frustrated if he can't just eat things before they are cooked through so only 'helps' a bit). I think that will come over time though as he is still quite young to be full on cooking. Loves cracking an egg etc though. Thanks Katie and BBC for a great book.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun but quite short, 21 Aug 2011
Bought this as my son loves I can cook - esp the songs. It is great for a burst every now and then as I am trying to just let him watch the occasional dvd rather than actual cbeebies (to avoid all the new programmes that keep coming on - just sticking to a few favourites).

I think from memory there are only 3 or 4 episodes (I really could be wrong but not many anyway). Was a little surprised at this as was expecting maybe 5 or 6.
