I've seen the film twice in the cinema over the years and wanted to own it on DVD... so I was excited when this came out. However, the quality of the transfer is awful... low resolution - you can hardly see the expressions on the faces in wider shots. A travesty. We should wait until another company brings out a DVD of proper quality.

1.0 out of 5 stars Great film, awful DVD, 23 July 2012
This brilliant film by Jancso is very badly served by the very poor quality of the image; this is a very low quality product from the usually superior Second Run. I am very disappointed; this looks like an offline digital copy of an imperfect print, rendered at pretty low resolution.

ACCATONE is a wonderful film, one of Pasolini's finest. However this DVD is of a very poor quality - very muddy, low resolution. Picture is soft throughout, like a poor VHS. Just wanted to warn other potential buyers, so that they can also potentially avoid my disappointment...
