Brass in Pocket (Inspector Drake 1) by Stephen Puleston
5.0 out of 5 stars Really Enjoyable!, 28 July 2014
This book sucks you straight in and then takes you on a roller coaster ride of murder and intrigue. Our hero is swimming against the tide battling with his own demons of OCD, whilst heading up a murder investigation, and having a family life too. This is a really nicely crafted, down to earth characters, and well constructed 'whodunit'.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Superb Book, 26 July 2014
I chose this book because I had spent two years living in Brunei and had had the opportunity of travelling around Malaysia and loved the experience.

Lachlan Gunn has written this story beautifully. I was a bit slow in getting into the plot but once I did I was totally captivated. I imagined myself in the jungle getting nowhere fast. Again, something I have done. The way the author describes the noise , the heat and the leeches, and the cat and mouse situations of the hunters and hunted.

A Soft Place to Fall (Shelter Rock Cove - Book #1) by Barbara Bretton
4.0 out of 5 stars Totally Engaging Story, 21 July 2014
I liked this story very much and was impressed with the way Barbara Bretton dealt with bereavement and the complications it brings for daughter in laws and their mother in laws. The loss of the husbands / son changes the family dynamic hugely.

This is a great story with lots of twists and turns with a host of super characters too. It is a love story with attitude. A very enjoyable read.
