On the Trail of the Real Macbeth, King of Alba (On&hellip by Cameron Taylor
4.0 out of 5 stars A good read, 22 Jun 2014
This is not supposed to be a scholarly account of the bona fide history of MacBeth and it is with relief I can say it isn't. It's readable and informative. Later this year I will be travelling on much of the same route and because of the quality of this book I feel more able to apply what I've learned and enjoy what I see, surely the reason for writing the book in the first place. The maps and sketches gave me quite a jolt because I didn't realize the geographical area that MacBeth affected. It means I'll have to make more than one trip to the North of Scotland. What a lovely thought.

Mr MacKay approaches the Troubles of Northern Ireland in a fresh way. How he manages to keep his writing clear and delicate while telling the background to two children who've been emotionally abandoned in the middle of a situation that even adults fail to cope with leaves me in awe. All the Little Guns has pathos, a wonderfully Irish humour told in quick flashes and a rich backstory of two families all cleverly whispered under innocent bedsheets. We don't approve of their methods but I found myself wondering if I should be willing on these two little killers. I don't know if this book will win any prizes but with any luck it will become regarded as a classic of it's time.
Lenovo C340 20-inch All-in-One Desktop PC - Black &hellip by Lenovo
4.0 out of 5 stars unbelievable value, 5 May 2014
Yes I know, Windows 8 may be a bit daunting but find yourself a wonderful "geek", get them to make your screen look like Windows 7 so you can have your beloved Start Button and you'll be off like nothing has changed. I was worried about the unfamiliar brand name but I reasoned that my old desktop had to be replaced because floppy discs just don't cut it any more and I took the leap of faith. It paid off and I wouldn't hesitate to make the same leap again. I don't use it to play games though. I have another old laptop for that. I use this desktop purely for office and homework.
