4.0 out of 5 stars Pete-free Pirates, 4 Jun 2014
The Pirates have left Pete behind. The results? Not at all bad. Some beautifully simple minimalist songs with the odd exquisite chord change thrown in (fond memories of Halfmoon Street) for good measure. Thomas Sanders voice is as listenable to as ever and his performance on Cristina is simply mesmerising. However as a Pirates fan the absence of Pete Hefferan's is noticeably missing. So whilst it's not in any way remarkable it's infinitely superior to a lot of the dross that is being churned out.

The Complete BBC Peel Sessions ~ Delgados
Totally gobsmacked that these guys completely missed me by. I do enjoy a bit of Scottish music from time to time and am a big fan of Belle and Sebastian, Mogwai, Camera Obscura etc. This compilation takes us through their career from their pixies like 'Under Canvas Under Wraps' to the more Mercury Rev/Flaming Lips style work they did towards the end of their career. If you like this check out the solo work done by Emma Pollock...in my opinion that even better!
