Perhaps the most common word assosciated with a Slayer live show, one even used by the band themselves to describe the concert experience, is chaos. I was very interested to see if this much-anticipated dvd release would truly capture the intensity and brutality of Slayer's live performances.
Well, Slayer fans will be happy to know that it does exactly that. With high quality video and surround sound audio, this delivers on every level. The set-list is excellent, combining old classics and new material from the God Hates Us All album, and the performance is flawless. When people tell you that an album is going to change your life, you dont tend to believe them. It is a claim that is bandied around with ceaseless abandon these days, and so often falls short of the mark. When i heard the band Refused referred to in reverential tones by a number of music journalists, i thought about checking them out. i then promptly forgot. a while later, i miraculously stumbled on a copy of their album "The Shape Of Punk To Come" in a record store, and decided on a whim to buy it.
