Whilst this CD is basically another version of the first two LPs released on Decca's Ace Of Clubs label there is enough different about it to mark it out from the crowd. The inclusion of the EP "By A Sleepy Lagoon" for the first time in CD quality is an absolute masterstroke and makes this CD.

The overall production of all the tracks appears to be very good indeed so congratulations to the manufacturers for that. The only thing I have to criticise is that the link to the mp3 version on Amazon of what is supposed to be this CD leads to something where there are only 12 tracks - admittedly on the audio CD - but not the 30 that are on the physical CD. When people talk about the music of the 60s, pretty much they mean what was in the hit parade of the time and that's fair enough. But this collection illustrates the tracks that were around at the same time and for whatever reason didn't quite make the giddy heights.

Doesn't stop it from being good music though and there's plenty of illustration here of what we all missed out on by listening to and reading only aboutt the top 20 or top 30 of the week.

It's like being back in the day and listening to the music for the first time, all over again!

Marvellous collection and it's gone a huge way to reviving my earliest musical memories. Plenty of tracks that I knew and plenty that I didn't.

Music to walk by!
