The Thin Executioner by Darren Shan
The Thin Executioner by Darren Shan

I loved this book, it is my favourite Shan novel to date. It is a big departure from the traditional Darren Shan novels in that it is a fantasy adventure that does not conform to the usual bloody tales that we are used too. Essentially it is a coming of age story of Jebel Rum who goes on a long quest to become the thin executioner. It is probably a slower pace than his other books but the story is so engaging and the descriptions vivid that I found myself totally engaged. The Demonata (8) - Wolf Island by Darren Shan

Another great installment from the horror master Darren Shan. Most of the action takes place on Wolf Island as the title suggests but moves the story on in terms of the genesis of the main character Grubbs Grady. Its fast paced and grisly but fun at the same time. It sets up nicely for the finale next year - I can't wait to see how all the loose ends tie up.

5.0 out of 5 stars Thank goodness for these scales, 10 May 2008
I travel very regularly and the only carriers from my airport are low cost so I ALWAY have the pre-flight luggage weight stress. That was until I discovered these wonderful scales. They are easy to use - you just clip them around the handle, pick up the luggage, wait for the beep (3 secs) and the weight is recorded. I have found that they are accurate to within about 0.2 of the airport scales.

I highly recommend these - buy them you won't be disappointed!
