Smart Lunar 25 Lux Front with 1/2 Watt Rear Light &hellip Smart
4.0 out of 5 stars Bright and visible, 26 Mar 2014
I often see cyclists with lights so dim that it would hardly make them less visible if they didn't have them at all. I don't think safety is something you should ever compromise on. These Smart lights are powerful enough to be easily seen by other road users, but not so bright that they would dazzle them. If you are riding on unlit roads or paths, you will find the front light insufficient to light your way; for these lights are designed to be seen and not to see.
I am not particularly keen on the front bracket, which does not feel very secure; and I would rather that the lamps took the same size batteries, making carrying spares simpler. I have read a fair few reviews on Smart rear… Read more
SealSkinz Men's Winter Cycle Gloves SealSkinz
I appreciate that sensitivity to coldness varies from person to person, but as far as I am concerned these gloves are no good below 4 C. Also, when pulling sweaty hands out of the gloves, often the lining will come out too; and it is a devil of a job trying to push it back into the fingers - in fact it's well neigh impossible. For the depths of winter I bought at a quarter of the price some ski gloves, which are far warmer and whose inner lining stays in place.
Kasp 160 Disc Padlock 70mm by Kasp
5.0 out of 5 stars High security padlock, 16 Mar 2014
It's difficult for me to review this product fully, since neither of the two Kasp 160 padlocks I own have been subjected to an attack; and so I cannot tell you how well they resisted. I have seen traditional padlocks yield with just one blow to their shoulder with a hammer. The Kasp 160 has no shoulder and, therefore, does not have this vulnerability. It is rated as 'high security' (11 out of 15). Its stainless steel body certainly does resist corrosion; for my two locks look as good as new after two years, although now and again I have to squirt some WD40 into the mechanism to prevent stiffness and rust. If you want peace of mind at a good price, you cannot do much better than this.
