Let's start with the reason for 4 stars and not 5. Oh Maddy, you've slipped the dates again! In book 10, Chris Hoy and co were off to the Athens Olympics, so it was 2004. Now 6 weeks later, Drew/Gaby is riding in the 2005 Helvetica. As Drew's birthdat is Feb 1989 and she is 15, that again make sin 2004!
Ok, so apart from that one continuity flaw, this is another gripping episode of this soap opera that is the life of a teenager with an identity problem not of his (her?) own making. I couldn't put the book down (except for food, and I'm sure Drew would understand that!)
I'm not going to put spoilers in this review, so read it yourself, but, yes, peas, carrots, long stories and… Read more

I love Maddy's series about Drew/Gaby. This book is an excellent addition to the set, with the usual mixture of long stories, pea's, carrot's and mis-placed apostrophe's, some exciting cycling stories (it never seems quite as much fun watching on Eurosport), some ectoplasm and the continual disbelief amongst his friends when Drew protests he isn't cute.
Only flaw in this one is the start of the chapter called "Boys are from Venus?" where, Gran having said "Young lady" to Drew at the end of the previous chapter, Manda then wonders why Gran said "Young man." I really want to know if Manda though Drew was boy or girl up to that point! Otherwise it would get 5 stars from me.

I am a great fan of the Gaby series of books (previously published in paper and pdf form).
It is great they are now appearing for the Kindle.

Drew's adventures have given me an appreciation for a) Manga, b) Competitive cycling, c) Teenage angst, all presented in an entertaining and amusing manner.

Well done, Maddy.
