A Higher Call: The Incredible True Story of Herois&hellip by Adam Makos
4.0 out of 5 stars Two great stories, 3 April 2014
I enjoyed this immensely.

Otherís criticism of the writing style is valid, but Iíd counter that with the fact that itís such an interesting story, you donít really notice the Ė at times Ė clunky style. Itís probably like this because the writerís previous work has been the factual recording of WWII veteranís stories, and for these, you need simple style that just sticks to the facts.

The back is basically a double-biography, of the US and German pilots involved, but concentrates on the German pilot. You do get a vivid idea of what life in the Luftwaffe fighter arm was like. While the book is really only about a handful of people, it does perhaps bring home that the… Read more
ViewRanger Outdoors GPS & Maps - Adventure Sports &hellip by Augmentra
Iíve been using Viewranger since I had a 2-inch screen Symbian phone to run it on, so the best aprt of 10 years, probably. It is an amazing app, I love it Ė always have.

I originally bought it (in the early days, you had to pay a nominal amount for the app) as an alternative to the early hand-held GPS devices. This was so far in advance of the weird monochrome (usually) line graphics the other GPS used to display in those days. It really does make walking a pleasure, as not only can you track where you are, but you know youíre not going to get lost,… Read more
Aten CS22U 2-Port USB Cable KVM Switch by ATEN
5.0 out of 5 stars Great value for money, 27 Jan 2014
I've been using one of these for Windows 7 & XP laptops. I use this at work and am constantly switching between the two. It just works! What more can you ask for?

The construction, while lightweight, certainly isn't flimsy. Possibly the weakest link would be the changeover switch, I can see that might break or wear out. But no problem to fit an alternative switch, if it does. No problems with the cables or plugs, they seem nice and solid. Video quality is excellent, I use it at 1440x900 and I can just (and I emphasise just) see a slight degradation in the quality of the display if I look for it. But in normal use, this is not noticeable and I'm perfectly happy working at that… Read more
