This is quite an incredible book. The author is searingly honest and writes with compassion, skill and good humour. I found it extremely moving and also very inspirational. Alcohol, when abused in whatever way, causes so much pain and trauma in our society, and this superb book will be invaluable for anyone who wants to change their relationship with the demon drink, or indeed give it up completely. Even for those who are moderate, or 'problem free' drinkers, this is truly worth a read. It also sensitively and candidly addresses the many complex emotional issues that can lead to alcohol addiction. I cannot recommend this highly enough!

I highly recommend this book - it is so interesting to learn about so many people who have lived remarkable lives, and have in many cases had a big impact on our lives today. I'd heard of a few of them, but most I hadn't and it is amazing how little recognition some of these people have had for quite amazing achievements. The book is a joy to dip in and out of - it's beautifully illustrated and the author's writing style is very engaging and he really brings his subjects to life. A lot of people will be receiving this from me as Christmas present this year - and I believe it will appeal to all ages!

This fabulous book of poetry about gardening is an absolute joy and I would recommend it as a perfect present for any agegroup. I don't know much about gardening but this has inspired me to finally take an interest in my own rather neglected garden. The author's love of gardening really shines through! I gave a copy to my mother who absolutely loved it too, as did my 12 year old daughter - in fact I do think this is a book that would be a hit with all schoolchildren. The poems are very funny, thought provoking and moving - filled with wonderful imagination and brilliant observations. Highly recommended!
