I was looking forward to seeing this film, but was unfortunately more than dissappointed with it. It could have been a real treat for sportslovers, but was instead a superficial tale of a great baseball player. The problem was the plot that concentrated solely on one year: after seeing 42 I feel like I no nothing more about Jackie Robinson than I did before seeing the film. Also some of the acting can only be described as amateurish at best. Never been a fan of Harrison Ford; his portrayal of Branch Rickey was a caricature, didn't feel like a real human being at all. Chadwick Boseman succeeded better, but not by much.
