5.0 out of 5 stars we like this, 20 Jun 2012
I'm always a bit wary of very positive reviews - but I've been really pleased with this product. It's nice and solid, comfy grip handle and does what it promises. Removes lots of loose fur - didn't seem to make as much mess as some reviews led me to expect. There are 9 cats living here at the moment (I foster for a rescue) so plenty of clients large and small, short and long haired to test it out on. I was a bit concerned when it talked about "blades" that it would be something quite rough that they didn't like / was uncomfortable. But they've really seemed to enjoy being groomed with it.

1.0 out of 5 stars disappointing, 1 May 2009
A lot of people are raving about this book at the moment - one of the reviews on the front page describes it as "[cutting] through the cliches of both religion and bad writing to reveal something compelling and beautiful". Unfortunately I felt that rather than transcending these cliches it fell between the two aims and was neither a good novel nor a thoughtful exploration of the questions it aims to address. The plot is thin, descriptions are repetitive and it seems to me that the characters are simply there as a mouthpiece for a one dimensional statement of the author's beliefs.

I love the idea of these very short introductions. The series is an excellent idea. However I've really struggled with this one. It feels like the author has tried to cope with the shortness of the book by making some very long sentences! Hard to understand and confusing with lots of unfamiliar names. Not really what I was hoping for.
