A wonderful book that covers the islamic dynasties and culture of Iran and India from the late middle ages to the early 20th century. It tells the story of individual rulers and the rise and fall of empires. Full of colourful illustrations and interesting snippets of triva.

This is the first part of the story of Tiglath Royal prince of Assyria and tells the story of his rise and fall from his childhood to adulthood and also the many places and different people, places and civilizations that were around at this time. The author has the knack of taking the reader on a journey as if he or she is there as the story unfolds. I could not put it down.

A brilliant follow up to the first part of the story begun in the Assyrian. The story continues the life of Tiglath the main character and to me captures the times and period bringing to life the all the main character a transporting the reader back to the 6th century BC. It has its fair share of murder, intrigue and passion as the story races along wrapping the reader up as you turn the pages. It is if the author as captured the essential ingredients of a really good read.
