I have to confess that I'm not an Agatha Christie fan - I find her plots too convoluted and the revelation of the villain too arbitrary. Having said that, this is a good production with a great cast, so for people who do like her more than me, I'm sure it will be greatly enjoyed.

I've enjoyed Armistead Maupin's work for ever - watched the TV series in the 90's - and loved them all. So it's great to have this dramatisation to listen to in the car - and to find that it's every bit as good as the book and the tv series! Great stuff.

Will I actually make this stuff?, 1 May 2013

I loved PH's TV show and this book is great to read. But I do wonder how many of the recipes I'll actually be bothered to make. All the stuff about sourdough leaves me dead: so much effort and mess when you can buy great sourdough quite easily nowadays! I'm more interested in soda breads and relatively quick yeast breads: I actually like the River Cottage Handbook on Bread a really good basic recipe, and also some of Richard Bertinet's recipes are super-tasty too. So I will hold on to PH's book for a while, try a few, and see how I get on. There are rather a lot of recipes which tell you what to do with bread.
