I don't often write reviews on Amazon, but being a relatively new home-owner I've found sourcing reasonably-priced, quality bath equipment to be surprisingly challenging (all this fancy 'designer' chrome rubbish for 100+), so let me save you some time already by saying that this is a classic, no-nonsense bath tray. It fits my standard bath perfectly and the rubber grips keep it reassuringly stable. It's relatively shallow, so if you're the kind of person who likes to arrange all your aquatic bottles and potions upright like a cocktail bar you might want to look for a slightly deeper model, but for normal usage this is just the ticket. This is one of the finest historical volumes I have ever read on any subject. McPherson's strengths are are threefold: firstly his research is astonishing in its detail and expertly referenced, secondly he writes with wonderful clarity and linguistic dexterity, and thirdly he remains passionately impartial about his subject. The only weakness I can think of in this superb work is the extremely poor quality of the maps and diagrams some of which are nearly illegible, responsibility for which rests with the publisher (Penguin).
