This book brings many recent findings up to date. It explores the movement of our ancestors around the world by looking at our genetic make up. It traces the move out of Africa and along the coast to the east. Early humans were strand dwellers, who sometimes followed river systems into the interior, but most of the evidence for human occupation would now be under the sea. Although the book covers some complex issues it is clear and comprehensive.
