2.0 out of 5 stars R&B???????, 20 Mar 2012
The first two Cd's in my opinion contain hardly any R&B at all. Unfortunately the songs on the first disc is known as R&B to the kids of today. Sorry guys, this is NOT R&B.
Going on to Disc 2, since when was Britney Spears R&B?? More so,the second half of the second cd is made up of UK Garage.
To me the eptiome of modern R&B was a fusion of Soul & Hip Hop which dominated urban music during the 90's, which is where LESS than half of the 3rd disc comes in.
You want true R&B go for the Pure Swing series or The Kiss presents R&B classics collection, which again only really touches the hem.

I've grown up listening to Motown and classic soul, so was thrilled to find this item. However upon reading up on certain acts, I found that some of the information was wrong. I've come across quite a few mistakes, and to read about acts such as Dusty Springfield and the Isley brothers, who I haven't reasearched about, it's hard to take everything in, as i'm not 100% as to whether the information is correct or… Read more

I can't give it a 5, because a 5 would be imo 'Purple Rain' & 'Sign o the times' As a great lover of music, spending all my hard earned cash on LP's & CD's over the years... the way I listen to an album is to have it playing while i'm doing..whatever.. Usually what tends to happen is, a track will grab my attention... in this case TWO tracks made me stop... "guitar" and as other reviewers have stated "Chelsea Rodgers"... all i can say is WOW!!!! This track is BRILLIANT!!

Anyway, despite getiing this album for FREE... well 1.40 as i never buy the mail on sunday... depending on whether the CD given away at his shows is the same as you'd buy in the shops, I will happily purchase… Read more
