SingStar Rocks! - Solus (PS2) by Sony
5.0 out of 5 stars Indie Power, 3 Mar 2008
This game like the many others in its series is amazing. Fun to play before going out clubbing / pubbing / partying or a good way to get people going and out of their shells at tense gatherings when people don't know eachother :o). This version of the classic game is aimed at the late teens to 30's wannabe rock grunge boys (me) and girls who wanna play the guitar. Full of excellent indie rock classics such as "Come as you are" by Nivarna, "Favourite Game" by The Cardigans and "Don't stop me now" by Queen. Also got the gutsy girl singers that make u wanna party like Gwen Stefani and KT Tunstall.
I really would advise this to all the guys and girls out there who love playing singstar but… Read more

Welcome to the wonder that is Goldfrapp's 4th immesly amazing album. Full of acoustic guitars (which we havent heard before in a goldfrapp song) soaring strings and orchestral sweeps, and Alison's dazziling powerful voice that shines through like the sun. The album itself couldnt be anymore different from the glam campness of Supernature (in my opionion was very dissapointing) and back to their roots.
The album starts off with the ethereal haunting song of "Clowns", upon first hearing seems strange and mystic, the only real lyrics you can make out seem to be "Only clowns will play with gold ballons" which adds to the etheral quality of the track.
Also upon hearing this track you… Read more

I was hesitant to actually buy this album at first. After hearing Everybodys gone to war on the radio countless times, i thought she would be a one-hit wonder. Boy was i wrong. I brought the album after the fantastic single Sophia was released, and i have fallen in love with it. From the roaring wild strings and lonelyness of Idaho, to the American teenager computer nerd from Geek Love, to the Indian Subcontinent of Nikindia. All of it is FANTASTIC. Her voice is a somewhat manic mash-up of Tori Amos, Joni Mitchell, KT Tunstall, Sheyrl Crow and Alanis Morisette with a touch of Dido thrown in for good measure, resulting in the quirky and amazing songs on this album.

Another thing… Read more
