In My Own Words:
Over the years I've really come to appreciate the value of feedback left by others. I thought it was time to make my own contribution and hope it helps others as much as I have benefited from the Amazon community in the past.

Call the Midwife - Series 2 [DVD] DVD ~ Jessica Raine
Call the Midwife - Series 2 [DVD] DVD ~ Jessica Raine

Happily, I enjoyed series 2 as much as the first series! My mother worked as a district midwife in 1950's East London and it certainly brought to life all the stories I grew up with.

It's a wonderful show, striking a great balance between the hardships of life in 1950's East End London and the triumphs of the human spirit. It truly puts things into perspective when confronted with the struggle of surviving day to day in the tenements and slums that form the backbone of the show.

Another BBC gem!
Leff Amsterdam One35 Stainless Steel Embossed Alum&hellip by LEFF amsterdam

Lovely clock with an attractive, well finished brushed aluminium face. Despite the large size it's a sleek enough design that it doesn't dominate the room. The numbers are embossed into the surface of the aluminium so quite subtle but the minutes and hours are clearly marked out in black segments and together with the highly visible black hands the time is easily read from across the room. Best of all (from my point of view) the clock has NO audible tick due to the silent Japanese movement and the absence of a second hand. It comes very nicely packaged if intending to be given as a gift with a polishing cloth and batteries. All in all very pleased with my purchase!
Lanvin Arpege Eau de Parfum Natural Spray 100ml by Lanvin

5.0 out of 5 stars Subtle and feminine!, 15 Dec 2012
This is the first perfume I ever owned, given to me when I was only 15 and it's remained a firm favourite for decades. Floral but not sweet or cloying like so many modern perfumes, which I find overpowering and lacking in subtlety. Classy, feminine and sensual, I wear it year round, day and evening and doubt I'll ever grow bored with it. Love the 1920's bottle evocative of the glory days of Hollywood glamour.
