A Solid Bond In Your Heart by Paul Dixon
Enjoyed this book. The author writes with empathy and a certain hint of something - sadness or a hint of regret? I cant quite put my finger on it but it adds to the experience and draws you into the world of 1980s northern england. The characters were well drawn and i could relate to them quite easily. Some nice twists with enough mixture of happiness and sadness. I liked the stoicness of the central character and the contrast with his maverick best friend. At the end I wanted to find out what happens next but all in all left with a feeling that i hope for the best for the characters in what comes next ...which is a nice experience to take away from reading any novel.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good read., 1 Dec 2012
Whilst it might not be ground breaking, different, unique or any other descriptions like that, this is a good read.
A little predictable but the story does have a certain emotional edge which keeps you hooked. I did find myself skipping pages worth of scene setting / dialogue prose though to get in with the plot. Not bad at all, good read, quite exciting.

pointless waste of money, now broken as second hand fell off after a week and has blocked the other hands and mucked up the mechanism.
