Much of what has been written about The Darkness is concerned with whether or not they are serious or just a popcorn band milking old-school heavy metal.
I, on the other hand, am only concerned with the sound of the album and in that respect I can honestly say it is absolutely fantastic and well worth a listen. Essentially, The Darkness blend the best parts of many listenable bands together:
1. Lead Singer's vocals occasionally drop into a kind of Muse-like falsetto!
2. Guitar's borrowed from every 70's/80's heavy metal band ever...
3. Song titles courstesy of the AC/DC school of song titles - "Love on the Rocks with No Ice"

After listening to Gomez's recent albums that I felt were a bit lacklustre, I decided to return to the original and it made me rememeber what a fantastic album it really is.
The finest thing about this album is the fact that every style of music is represented here. Tijiana Lady is a wonderful acoustic track but the sheer blues power of Rie's Wagon is enough for anyone who enjoys a louder, more potent sound.
In short, this is an album of an era, and while Gomez have not performed so well since this album was released, this labum should be bought just for the sheer quality of what's on offer.

There is no doubt that this is a clever concept for a game and it is genuinely fun to play, if a bit repetative at times. The missions are fun and reasonably well done as a whole but unfortunately a couple of good missions and a load of impressions do not make a good game.
The game suffers from a number of flaws that become more apparent as you play it. For example the not existant physics model and the fact that your car never appears to recieve any damage no matter what you do to it takes down some of the realistic aspects of the game.
The graphics are resonably good but I would suggest a reasonably good graphics card to make the most of the textures in the game.
