Castle Orchard by E A Dineley
Castle Orchard by E A Dineley
This novel evokes the times, ten years after the battle of Waterloo, and tells of the effects still felt by a diverse range of characters. It moves from London to the countryside, with beautiful descriptions of the rural scenes, and the story holds your interest to the last page. I highly recommend it.

This book is so well researched, full of anecdotes on individuals and events, which have been sourced from contemporary letters and diaries. The technical details are fascinating to the lay reader, and the whole book is laced with humour and excellent observations. I highly recommend this book to Napoleonic readers old and new.
NAPOLEONIC WAR IN PORTUGAL 1807 - 1811 by Stephen R Davies
I was quite disappointed in this book. It has good basic history of the Peninsular War,
but I was looking for more details and pictures. There are already plenty of books published. a new book needs a new perspective
with updated pictures to give a view of battlefields today.
