Let's face it - neurology is a sinking quagmire especially when you can't get your head around location of lesions and quickly it all seems to overlap and get confusing. During an exam you risk saying everything that comes to mind because all of a sudden you can't even remember the difference between upper motor neurone and lower motor neurone lesions. This book's useful for differentiating between different lesions and it takes you through different sections from foot drop to quadriplegia and goes through the clinical signs you would expect at all possible levels of lesions. 5.0 out of 5 stars The best series ever!, 29 July 2011
There's no point going back and reviewing all the books in this series. They work as a whole especially with the character and plot development.I'm a little in love with Harry's brother Thomas the vampire. The whole series is a complex clash of supernatural politics versus the human world with the key character being this eccentric, erratic and nearly always compromised modern day Chicago based wizard. The High Lord: The Black Magician Trilogy Book Thr&hellip by Trudi Canavan

When you find yourself falling a little in love with Akkarin after the cold blooded villain he came across as in the first couple of books, you know the author has skill to change it around like that. It's a twist I didn't expect and needless to say was more than a little gutted at the end. From the shy, seemingly weak girl who gets bullied to becoming a powerful sorceress that everyone wants a piece of, it's a journey you'll want to follow.
