Miss Buncle's Book by D.E. Stevenson

Miss Buncle's book is a wonderful light read; full of humour, wit and charm! The story of a book within in a book sounds confusing but makes absolute sense once you get into it. This heart-warming novel is the literary equivalent of a comforting cup of cocoa on a cosy winters evening- I can't recommend it highly enough! I love all of the Persephone classics that I've read so far and this is no exception. The classy grey covers, neat binding and beautiful inside cover designs gives these books a super high quality feel. Well done to Persephone for bringing us these forgotten classics!
Evelina: Or the History of A Young Lady's Entrance&hellip by Frances Burney

Frances Burney wrote three major novels in her lifetime, Cecelia, Camilla and her first and best, Evelina. The story unfolds as a series of letters between the different characters in the novel. This was quite a common device used in 18th century fiction but I don't think anyone used it to greater effect than Burney has done here. She was a talented and prolific letter writer in real life, and her natural wit and intellect shines through in every page. The charcters in Evelina are a lot of fun, and some of the scenes with Captain Mirven and Madam Duval are laugh out loud funny. I cannot recommend this book highly enough and it would definitely be in my top 5 books of all time! Jane Austen… Read more
Star Trek The Next Generation - Season 5 (Slimline&hellip DVD ~ Patrick Stewart

5.0 out of 5 stars Best ever TNG season!, 12 Oct 2008
This season is full of amazing episodes from the wonderful "Cause and Effect", to the cliffhanger "Times arrow part 1" to one of my personal favourites "Disaster". The qaulity of the story-telling in this season is never bettered (although seasons 6 and 7 are close) with great character development and inventive plots. I have all the seasons of TNG on DVD but this is the season I come back to time and time again.
