Run, Fat Boy, Run [Blu-ray] [2007] [US Import] [20&hellip Blu-ray ~ Simon Pegg
Fans of Simon Peggy's hilarious TV show Spaced, will be aware of the low regard in which he holds The Phantom Menace. Unfortunately Run Fatboy Run is his personal Nadir (at least I truly hope so, as he seems a great guy and I want him to do well).

I agree with the other critics of his film that it was truly woefully unfunny. I was surprised how trite the storyline was, there were for me NO funny moments, unnecessary (and unfunny) cameos, and predictable outcomes and two-imensional characters. Hank Azara as the rival love interest was potentially great casting, but unfortunately his character has no room for development and turns out to be a douche, so there is no reason for… Read more
Gregory's Girl [Blu-ray] Blu-ray ~ John Gordon-Sinclair
Gregory's Girl [Blu-ray] Blu-ray ~ John Gordon-Sinclair
Saw this at the cinema when it came out and have watched it numerous times since.

I still find it touching when it is revealed who Gregory's girl actually is.

Great that it is now on blu ray and with very good picture quality and ok sound.

Fans may be interested to know that most of the cast also appeared in That Sinking Feeling made shortly before this film, and it is now also available on blu ray and has some very funny moments also, although not as good as this undoubted classic!

The acting in the film was ok, marred however by American accents throughout, and Nicolas Cage seems to phone his performance in.

The film is entirely unoriginal, boring, humourless and poorly scripted.

The ending was laughable and unsatisfying, and does not bear repeated viewings.

This is normally the kind of film I would like BTW but there really is not much here to recommend this film, unless you are a connoisseur of rubbish films. but this is not even "so bad it's good" it's just bad.

Nicolas Cage please get well soon I miss your good films.
