Education, Education, Education & War ~ Kaiser Chiefs

I think we all know that the Kaiser Chiefs are VERY unlikely to ever top their first release, "Employment". However, there are some good songs on here, not up there with the majority of "Employment" but some maybe up with there with their 2nd album.

They need to get a new producer though - this is has a ridiculous amount of compression on the whole album, resulting in it lacking in any dynamics, light and shade and a lot of things sounding very distorted. I heard this CD twice on Spotify, and that was enough to make the decision to buy it. After it arrived, I have listened to it several times every day, and never tire of it.

The truth is, as the last few albums have proved, is that Robbie is very good at what he does - I think some of his CDs are cracking, especially Escapology and I've been expecting you - but since parting with Guy Chambers as a FULL time collaborator/songwriter, quality control as gone downhill in terms of good of songs, and on his own, he's just not a 'natural' writer of great pop songs, in the way that, say Gary Barlow is (oh… Read more
