Third Star [DVD] DVD ~ Benedict Cumberbatch
Third Star [DVD] DVD ~ Benedict Cumberbatch
5.0 out of 5 stars Sooo beautiful ...., 18 May 2014
The Third Star is a beautifully filmed and thought provoking film - very much something that should become a favourite in everyone's film collection. The acting by all the cast is superb, and although the story is necessarily very sad, its' message is quite reaffirming and spiritual. I would recommend anyone to give it a try.
Christmas Mourning: The Falconer Files - File 8 by Andrea Frazer
I bought Death of Old Git and Christmas Mourning together believing that I would get more character information that way. I wasn't expecting anything special from either book, just light escapism, but I was expecting two different stories. I didn't get them. They are virtually the same story - even the murderer is essentially the same! Neither one is well written and neither has anything above puerile humour - although I have a feeling Ms Frazer enjoyed herself writing them. Her enjoyment was so high she even forgot the name of her characters towards the end in her excitement and repeated herself constantly! The only reason I have given one star is that you can't not give a star… Read more
Towards Zero (Agatha Christie Collection) by Agatha Christie
5.0 out of 5 stars Surprising suspense!, 24 Jun 2013
Not your typical Christie and definitely more difficult to work out what is going on then the Poirot or Miss Marple stories. The characters are well defined and there are a few very subtle red herrings along the way. I believe this has been filmed at some point years ago, and although I had a slight recollection of it as I got about a quarter of the way in, it didn't spoil my enjoyment as I find the two genres totally separate experiences. If you like a lot of blood and gore this isn't for you at all, but as a comfortable and interesting who-dun-it this story hits the mark.
