I dug the flick. In no way am I a "Trekkie" but I had a blast with this.

So, thumbs up for that.

The blu ray. Yet again we're missing out on extras.

I read a report on Ain't It Cool news about it. Due to various store exclusives and what not, we're missing out on at least 100 minutes of "making of" material as well as an audio commentary (might be a Picture in Picture commentary).

Here is a list from the article. Granted it's from the US but hopefully you'll get the idea:

Exclusiveness: $40 Steelbook case plus Hot Wheels-produced figurine of the U.S.S. Vengeance

Best Buy

Here's the thing though, there is a week of a difference between our release date and the US. Yet, the US gets it no problem. So, you've gotta imagine that the US and UK discs were being mastered at roughly the same time. So, unless I'm REALLY missing something, I don't see what the problem was/is… Read more

I watched this last night, I really dug it. I'm 28 now, saw the original when I was 15 (in 1998) so it was like revisiting an old friend.

As people have said here, this is a barebones release.

Except a theatrical trailer, there are no extras on the disc. Even the trailer is of a surprisingly low quality.

Apparently any country and/or region getting this before October will have no extras. Compared to the US release which has an audio commentary, behinds the scenes featurette, an alternate opening and an alternate ending, deleted scenes and gag reel.

It's an Entertainment In Video release here, It's an Anchor Bay release in the US. So I don't know… Read more
