I was gripped! I nearly missed my tube stop! For someone who spends a lot of time in the city, this novel is a fantastic retreat from reality!
Emma Grayson looks for a new start as she recovers from the loss of a her child and the breakdown of her marriage.
Rose's descriptions are thorough and detailed- the dull grey London disappeared, while reading about summer life on the estate! But more than that- Rose's description of loss really makes you feel it...The theme is present throughout the novel and it's progression and the development of its characters are very skilfully handled.
I would have liked a bit of a cliff hanger at the end.... but still, I'm looking forward to… Read more
