Bringing It All Back Home by Ian Clayton
Bringing It All Back Home by Ian Clayton
5.0 out of 5 stars Have adventures!, 14 April 2012
The inscription penned on my copy of "Bringing it all home" reads "Have adventures Tony". Inspiring words on an inspiring book. It was enthralling to read about Ian Clayton's musical adventures and his reflections on the importance of music in his life. The book takes you everywhere-from a West Yorkshire back street to the MIssissippi delta in the beat of a Djembe drum!
By the the time I got to Ian Clayton's reluctantly compiled favourite 40 albums half way through the book, I couldn't wait to listen to the soundtrack of musical adventures described in the book. As soon as I turned the page and saw the list of albums, I grabbed my iPhone and began compiling a Spotify playlist of as… Read more

I've been buying albums for over 30 years and having seen these guys play live many times since their formation 3 years ago, I can honestly say I've never looked forward to an album as much as I have this debut long-player from Exit Calm. As I ripped off the cellophane I knew I wouldn't be disappointed, and I wasn't. Wham bam straight in with "You got it all wrong", you're immedialtey lifted up high to somewhere else. Then the gargantuan "We're on our own", previously released as a single, but surely a candidte for re-release as the Exit Calm mantra crosses the globe over the coming months as it surely will.

5.0 out of 5 stars Look no further, 29 April 2010
People looking for something lacking in their recent music collection should look no further than the debut album from South Yorkshire sock it to 'ems Exit Calm. This album takes you everywhere you want to go, up and down and all around. Emotion, love and pure skill drip from every one of these drenched in class tunes.
This masterpiece, surely one of the best British debut albums of all times, will become the basis of memories for the summer 2010 and many more seasons to come. Make sure you've got these mindblowing melodies coming out of your headphones and your speakers - if it's the last album you buy. Terrific. Luv, Lefty.x
