I have long felt uncomfortable with the adverse effects on my brave and loyal Labrador of being subject for most of his life to the relatively simplistic dominance-based 'system' popularised by Jan Fennell and Cesar Millan, that I've begun to read and research more widely - certainly before I ever get another puppy.

Having learnt from the intelligent and loving example that my dog himself set me in response to my earlier ill-informed mistakes, Bradshaw's book has now helped provide me with a much more sound - if necessarily more complex - understanding of these wonderful creatures.
