'Thirst' is a vapid, vane attempt at broadening his established appeal over-seas. With recycled cast and a failed attempt at recreating the juxtaposed macabre charm seen in his last popular films, 'Thirst' is left feeling like a self righteous attempt at a drunken, incoherent anecdote.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan of Chan-wook because of his mellow-toned and classically pedantic attention to detail in terms of photography and colour scheme - with every scene playing off with Takeshi Kitano reminiscent suspense, with altered sets designed by Lawrence Llewellyn-Bowen on a hang over. Like a polygraph, reactions from those who absorb this film can be analysed as such that you can actually separate the sheep from the wolves with relative ease. So much care, subtlety and uncompromising design have gone into the making of this film, and perhaps it's for like minded individuals. One thing is for sure, it -is- for individuals, and not those who need a laughter track to tell them when to crack a smile.

The one star review is the attack of the arbitrary minded middle-aged English man.

When converting a series of gruesome fantasies which, when correlated, seem to be a series of effed' up ways to kill someone - you can't help but wonder how they can make a game based on this idea. Most games now'days have contextual violence, some gruesome, some tame - but the Saw franchise has focused it's core on violence. Interestingly, we've done a 180 spin and in actuality the Saw game has put story and substance into something that is otherwise gore for the sake of gore.

Basically, the best way to summarize Saw (or the game-play that is Saw)would be the following:
