This book was recommended to me. After reading it myself, (and enjoying it immensely), I bought copies for two boys, one aged 11 and one aged 12. One a relative and one a close friend's son, certain they would enjoy it too, being avid readers. They did, and one of them is now reading it a second time, seaching obsessively for the hidden clues he missed during his first read.
Everything about the writing is ideally suited to young teen readers; the vocabulary, humour, sharp dialogue, enough intrigue and adventure to keep you turning the pages, and funny descriptions that make the characters instantly visible.
