I was interested in Steve Peters Chimp Paradox and noticed all the 5 star reviews this book got - mostly on Amazon.com. Luckily the local library had a copy. I say luckily because this book is unbelievably banal. Positive thinking/reinforement at it's most basic.

First let me say I'm not a triathlete, so I only use this for running. If you want a detailed review there's plenty elsewhere.

I've given this 3 stars because when it works it does what I'd expect it to do - tells me where I've been, how far, how fast, heart rate etc.

But it has some really annoying features.

1. If you switch it on and then don't start the activity for a number of minutes it switches off - saves power I guess, but if you're waiting for the start of a race annoying at best.

2. So you press start and mostly it starts - 3 stars, but occasionally it's lost signal (maybe you had that final trip to the toilet).

I think the other reviews have just about got it covered, but I'd like to re-iterate a couple of things.
1. The windows interface is not at all user friendly. Look at the user forum regarding the learning curve for this device.

2. This is a navigational device. Where do I navigate - in the hills, in Britain, where there is often substantial amount of rain. This device is NOT waterproof. I did see someone advising to wrap it in clingfilm. Why should anyone have to consider that.

So, it'll be ok if you're walking slowly and have a good memory for all the little taps you will need to make with the stylus.
