Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G Lens by Nikon

I have just purchased these lenses after so much research on the differences and advantages of the 35mm versus the standard and most popular 50mm.

The first thing that drew my attention was that these lenses are for DX cameras, like my D5300. The 50mm have awesome reviews but are for non-DX cameras, although they also fit these. The crop factor of the DX makes a 1.5x increase so I thought I'd be losing a bit of the short focal length point if I bought the 50mm. Vagus ElectronicsTM - Mini DisplayPort to VGA adap&hellip by Vagus Electronics
5.0 out of 5 stars Works fine, 14 Feb 2014
I purchased this to connect my MacBookPro 17" early 2011 to an old HP monitor I had from work (1440x900). It's not too long and not too short. The cable with its VGA plug head curves just around the edge, and it look neat enough, just like most Apple gear. It does its job perfectly well.
Nikon EN-EL14a Rechargeable Li-Ion Battery by Nikon

This is my extra battery for my D5300. It is a must have in your kit, the most important accessory you can buy for any camera. It charges very quickly, well under 2 hours, and it has a reasonable life that will depend mostly on whether you use LiveView or not, and on the usage of various camera features such as wi-fi and GPS (real battery eaters).
